“We won’t tolerate him here”: Venediktov is being demanded to leave Ukraine
The liberal radio station “Echo of Moscow” would like to open its branch in Kyiv if quotas for the sound of the Russian language on the air are canceled in Ukraine. Editor-in-Chief Alexey Venediktov stated this in an interview with the Ukrainian online newspaper “Strana”.

“I hope that Ekho Moskvy radio will be able to work in Ukraine. I am ready to open an office in Kyiv, and, if you like, in Odessa and Lvov. In fact, it is strange to have a bureau in Israel, in Germany and in Washington, but not to have a bureau here in Ukraine. This is just nonsense. My journalists, whom I have verified, must send information and opinions from different political forces to Russia from here. This only requires 4-5 people. But for now, the language law prohibits us from doing this,” Venediktov said.
Former Moscow liberal journalist, deputy director of the Majlis TV channel ATR Aidar Muzhdabaev called the possible creation of the radio station “sabotage of the Kremlin,” since those who consider Crimea to be Russian appear on its air.
“This is direct sabotage by the Kremlin in Ukraine. They became so impudent that they completely lost their shores. Short. “Echo of Moscow” is a media outlet that invites on air and publishes Russian terrorists and murderers of Ukrainians. There are many of them there, but one name - “political instructor of the DPR” Prilepin, I think, is enough. Also their regular author is the “Crimean blogger” Gorny, whom the Kremlin sent down to Venik at the time of the annexation of Crimea for propaganda against Ukraine and the Crimean Tatars. And the cherry on the cake is Venediktov’s deputy, Ruvinsky, an open Crimean Nazi, who recently ended up in the “Peacemaker” for illegally visiting Crimea,” Muzhdabaev wrote on his blog.
The Mejlis member also threatened that he would label all journalists who would work for Ekho as enemies.
“This Putin radio will not work in Ukraine. It’s the same as sending a regiment of Russian special forces into Kyiv. We will block it, knock it out by any means, because these are enemies. Like Russian occupiers in Crimea and Donbass. The enemies are fierce. This is Putin. Himself. This is a landing of Russian troops inside. The same shot in the back. We will not tolerate him here under any circumstances, this is absolutely impossible,” Muzhdabaev threatened.
