We ate snow, - a Kievan Rus fighter spoke about the “planned escape” from Debaltsevo
Kyiv, February 24 (PolitNavigator, Alexandra Ignatieva) – A fighter of the 25th battalion “Kievan Rus” Dmitry Shcherbachuk claims that the command abandoned the military personnel to their fate near Debaltseve.

According to the soldier, the soldiers were forced to survive without food and water: they drank water from the river and made a cigarette out of five cigarette butts. There were many wounded and killed. They were taken to the “cross”, where the guys lay in “stacks”. No one could take them out because the road was cut off.
“It’s a pity that the wounded lay in piles and turned into “two hundred.” We managed to load the guys in the dark and take them out, but the Ural was let down, and it is still standing with the bodies,” says Shcherbachuk, quoting him ICTV.
“This was not a planned exit, but a planned escape, so as not to fall into the cauldron, as in Ilovaisk. We knew that the route was blocked, the battalion commander ran away two weeks before and neither he nor the political officer appeared again,” the serviceman claims.
Coming out of Debaltsevo, the fighters ate snow, and the militants constantly fired. We covered 47 km through fields, swamps, and lakes.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukrainian volunteers earlier said that help was needed to re-equip the military personnel who left Debaltseve.
