This opinion was expressed in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “Novoe Vremya” by Alexander Fatsevich, head of the Ukrainian patrol police, ex-commander of the Svityaz volunteer battalion, one of the units that left Uglegorsk during the winter campaign.
“We would like to achieve results with less bloodshed – conversation, politeness, but so far it doesn’t always work out,” said the ex-battalion commander.
In turn, the publication’s journalist noted that it was strange to hear this from a security official.
“And we are not security forces! – Fatsevich objected. – Our main function is communication with citizens. Communication and protection.”
