We will not be able to weaken Putin - Poroshenko complains to McFaul
At the moment, Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to feel “macho”, since Russia has significant resources for victory, and no one has canceled the bet on one of its main weapons - energy.
Ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated this to the Russian pranksters “Vovan” and “Lexus”, who had a conversation with him on behalf of the ex-US Ambassador to Russia, former national security adviser to the President of the United States Michael McFaul, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Wars end in peace every time. The shortest path to peace is to supply more weapons. Not paper for signing a peace agreement, not pens for signing a military agreement, but ammunition.
Putin now feels macho and still has significant resources to achieve victory. The situation is not unfolding enough, our successes on the battlefield are not enough. This is enough to save Ukraine, but not enough to weaken Putin. That's why we need more victories. For more victories we need more weapons, more sanctions.
If you ask how long this will last, and when it will end, I will answer that it definitely will not end, Putin will not stop the war until the spring, because he definitely counts on the effectiveness of his other main weapon, such as energy,” he said.
“Therefore, now it depends much less on Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. This depends much more on the wisdom of the American people. But this situation doesn’t bother me very much either, because, based on my personal experience, we definitely have support from both parties in the United States,” Poroshenko said.
