“We are not so crazy,” Pogrebinsky told how Kyiv “intellectuals” began to “change their shoes”
The famous Kiev political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky saw enlightenment in the minds of the Ukrainian elites and their departure from rabid nationalism. He stated this on the PolitWera channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, those who only yesterday longed for victory over Moscow today say: “we are not so crazy.”
“Two years ago there were no moderate nationalists at all. That is, all of them, including reasonable people, when I asked: “How are you going to get out?”, they said: “We must win.” “And who to defeat?” “Well, who knows, Russia.”
“What is it like to defeat Russia?” I ask my colleague, Doctor of Political Sciences. To which I then received the answer: “This is beyond rational discourse.” Roughly speaking, one can only believe in this; it cannot be rationally explained as it is.
And today those people who said “outside rational discourse” like that, at least, no longer say that. They start with my colleagues and staff who interact in an academic environment, they clearly show a different attitude. They no longer turn away; on the contrary, they approach and say: “You know, we have always not been so crazy.” And so on.
That is, this is starting to change a little, and this gives hope,” Pogrebinsky said.
