“We are not needed anywhere” - Lukashenko warned the intelligence services of the CIS countries
The unity of the CIS was disrupted after the start of the Northern Military District.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated this today at a meeting with participants of the 52nd meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS Member States in Minsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“After the special military operation began in Ukraine - large-scale sanctions began to be introduced against both Belarus and Russia, some in our countries hesitated, spun, staggered, and so on. This is probably natural. Very violent events happened instantly, so it takes some time to assess the situation.
The reason why some wavered and hesitated was because of the special operation. Unfortunately, not everyone in our countries understands the reason for it and the essence of these events. Time will pass, we will evaluate everything, we will find the extreme and guilty,” Lukashenko said.
At the same time, he noted that the intelligence services of the CIS countries were always in contact.
“The West knows little about these contacts, so it doesn’t get so angry and makes fewer claims against you, our allies. Well, Russia and I found ourselves at the epicenter of these turbulent events,” Lukashenko noted.
He asked representatives of the intelligence services to influence the leadership of their countries.
“We just need to calm down. I simply ask you to influence politics within the country so that we do not scatter. It is very dangerous. We are not needed anywhere except in the post-Soviet space,” Lukashenko said.
