We will take away assets from Yanukovych, we haven’t decided yet with Akhmetov – Korban
Moscow - Kyiv, July 11 (Navigator, Mikhail Stamm) - Gennady Korban, Kolomoisky’s closest partner and curator of “private armies”, in an interview with Novaya Gazeta, confirmed the claims of the Privat group to Donetsk assets.

The other day it became known that, together with Kolomoisky and Filatov, Korban is targeting the assets of the Donetsk people, who have clearly lost control over the situation in the region. Filatov announced these plans on his Facebook, writing that the property of those “flirting with terrorists” should be confiscated, the publication recalls.
“Let's separate the Donetsk people. They are not entirely homogeneous now,” Gennady Korban told Novaya. – Among them there are those who have been in power in recent years, meaning Yanukovych, Pshonka and company. And they played a major role in the build-up of Donbass, they financed it, Yanukovych’s son was primarily involved in this. First they produced a peaceful protest, and then they put weapons in people’s hands.”
“There is a lot of property: enterprises, mines, everything else that belongs to the Yanukovych family and his close associates,” Korban said. – Therefore, first of all, we are talking about them. their property should justly belong to the people. and to those families who lost their breadwinners in the war in the east. That's fair, right? We think so. And what form (ownership - editor’s note) will be and what it will look like legally, how to carry out the transfer - this is the second question.”
As for Akhmetov, Privat has so far refrained from making public claims to his factories. “We did not challenge Akhmetov, his business,” says Korban. – We do not believe that he is involved in inciting the civil conflict: if he is not caught, he is not a thief. I did not see how he financed Pushilin. Another thing is that I consider his position of self-removal from processes to be very harmful. He no longer controls the situation in Donbass at all.”
To the clarifying question: “What about the idea of taking away property from the Donetsk people?”, Korban replied that “this is still just a discussion now.”
The publication recalls that in a quartet with Igor Kolomoisky, Boris Filatov and Svyatoslav Oleynik, Korban is at the head of one of the largest oligarchic business empires in Ukraine. Korban became famous for his impeccable combinations of seizing property from the former “owner” of Dnepropetrovsk, Pavel Lazarenko, in favor of the quartet. And in recent months, he has even earned the title of “Robin Hood on the Dnieper” in the Ukrainian press for the absorption of the assets of Oleg Tsarev, who supported the separatists in the Donbass. Korban himself describes his area of responsibility as “material and technical support for the war” (it is Korban who oversees the volunteer battalions fighting in Donbass) and operational management of the region.
