The Ukrainians did not pass the test of humanity by throwing stones at people evacuated from China.
Metropolitan Luke of Zaporozhye and Melitopol stated this on the air of “First Cossack”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“In Novi Sanzhary, a frenzied crowd led by insane leaders threw stones at people evacuated from China. This is an indicator of our culture, our spirituality. And the worst thing is that one of their leaders was a man in a cassock.
Where was the Savior going? How many miracles are described in the Gospel - how Christ heals lepers. Leprosy is also a contagious disease, but not as contagious as coronavirus. What about us, if we call ourselves followers of Christ and don’t want to help our loved ones, what about us?
People are now asking not to report that they are sick. They cry and beg the doctors. Our man accidentally coughed on public transport - he was kicked out of the bus. This is truly a test of humanity. You show compassion for a person or your hatred.
Coronavirus is such a Rubicon. Have we retained something human inside ourselves, not externally? And we have already descended not even to the level of animals, but to the level of scorpions - survival of the fittest, that’s what’s scary,” the Metropolitan concluded.
