“We will still be an American plug” - Kiev political scientist
US President Joe Biden has no complaints against Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, but you shouldn’t count on a significant improvement in relations between the US and Ukraine.
The head of the Third Sector center, Andrei Zolotarev, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Zelensky, based on the principle of bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States, did not get involved in the showdown and did not give effect to Derkach’s recordings. Therefore, Biden has no serious reasons to be personally offended by Zelensky. At least he didn’t make the mistake of putting all his eggs in one basket like Poroshenko.
It is clear that the pressure from the State Department and the same Nuland on Bankova will noticeably increase. There is no doubt about it. It is clear that they will promote grant-eaters and Soros, representatives of all kinds of non-traditional orientations - political, sexual, and so on. But I think that this should not be absolute.
Mr. Blinken believes that Ukraine could simply split up and the connection with Russia could simply take its toll. Paradoxically, Russia received bonuses precisely under the Democrats - remember 2008 and 2014. Trump was absolutely right when he said that Obama gave up Crimea.
Rather, they clearly formulated: the main enemy is China, containment of Russia, but without extreme scenarios. This means that we will continue to be either a plug in the barrel or another feminine hygiene item in US geopolitical scenarios.
Perhaps the issue will be resolved with military assistance. But there won’t be any super-promising progress or decisions for Ukraine,” Zolotarev said.
