For some reason we forget that work visas to the EU will remain - Ukrainian Foreign Ministry
Even if Ukraine receives the promised visa-free regime, it may only apply to short-term trips; the European Union does not intend to cancel visas for those wishing to find work.
This was stated during a round table meeting on the topic: “Migration processes: Ukraine - Poland”, said the representative of the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Sergei Menyailo.

“I don’t know why, but we all forget that (despite) the visa-free regime that we are about to be given soon, both the Ukrainian and European sides say that visas that give the right to work and study will remain . And, unfortunately, just as the Polish consuls had to issue 700 thousand visas with the right to work and study, they will have to continue to be issued.
My colleagues conservatively estimate that they expect 1,5 million visas to be issued next year. My colleague from the Polish Foreign Ministry once said that they would not be able to issue more than 700 thousand visas. I said that they have a reserve - the Finns issue 1,2 million visas for Russian citizens, Poland is larger than Finland, and it can issue a million visas. This was three years ago. Today 2016 has not yet ended, but a million visas are already available. By the end of the year - 1,2 million, next year - 1,5 million. And visas with the right to work will remain. And there will be a desire of unscrupulous intermediaries to use this,” the diplomat said.
