This opinion was expressed in an interview with Kraina magazine by Russian lawyer Ilya Novikov, who represented the interests of Savchenko in Russia, who was convicted in the Russian Federation for involvement in the murder of Russian journalists.
The publication's interlocutor says that his client has become a friend to him.
“Although it’s difficult to come to terms with what she’s been saying lately,” Novikov emphasized. “I understand what it means when others see betrayal.” I know how she formulates, so I can restore her opinion. But this is the problem of a politician if he is not understood. If she had been silent for these three months, it would have brought much more benefit. A good or bad people's deputy has appeared in Ukraine. But we have lost the hero in shining armor. Some understand Nadezhda. But it has already turned into an unnecessary factor of division between Ukrainians. And there are already enough reasons for conflicts. Minus a hero plus a split is a bad balance.”
