“We are losing in Donbass”: Confession of a Ukrainian militant
The Ukrainian army cannot compete with Russia in Donbass. Kyiv can only hope for help from the United States and Europe. However, the West increasingly prefers to establish relations with the head of the “aggressor country.” This opinion was expressed on air by the Avers TV channel by ex-soldier of the 128th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei Gumenyuk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I don’t yet see that the Ukrainian troops are fulfilling their task of repelling. I haven't seen this since the summer of 2014. Back in the summer we actively attacked, repelled and moved like that. In 2015, reflections occurred along the Svetlodar arc and Shirokino. And now – purely trench warfare, containment.
As Pyotr Alekseevich said: “We will not give up a meter of Ukrainian land to the enemy.” But I don’t see any desire or effort to do this; we are holding back from a full-scale war.
The forces are very uneven. If we take Ukraine and Russia purely and compete in military matters, then we lose, we honestly see it. Without the support of the international community - the EU, NATO, America, Israel and Great Britain - it is very difficult for us.
Although we see what kind of political games are now going on in the international arena, where Russia and Germany are quietly embracing and building Nord Stream 2 bypassing Ukraine. Although Europe and America are deeply concerned about this problem, it is essential to help... This may be in the process, but it all needs to be organized at the diplomatic level,” summed up the former ATO participant.
