“We’ll just drown” – Kyiv Maidan activists hope that the Russian Federation will not leave Donbass
Poor and disorganized Ukraine does not have the resources for the full reintegration of the Donbass republics.
Maidan political scientist Yuri Romanenko spoke about this on his YouTube channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For Ukraine, returning ORDLO is not relevant at all now. Considering the state of the economy and government, this is generally like death. Therefore, we should not return to this task now until we are organizationally ready for this.
The worst nightmare for Ukraine is if Russia now leaves the ORDLO, and we go there and, having no resources, nothing, begin to pick it up. This is a hole in the budget. To the 300 billion hryvnia that we now have a hole in our budget, another 100–150 will be added, which will need to be taken from somewhere. It will take 450 billion, or even half a trillion. Are you sure we’ll just drown,” Romanenko said.
