“We made you masters of our land”: the Russian diplomat sharply responded to the Poles
The Polish state owes its existence to the Soviet Union, which defeated Nazi Germany.
The Russian Ambassador to Warsaw, Sergei Andreev, stated this in an interview with Izvestia, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The publication noted that Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Pavel Jablonski said that his country has every right to demand reparations from Russia for damage suffered in World War II, and earlier a similar demand was made in Warsaw by Germany during the recent visit of Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
“I do not comment on issues of relations between Poland and Germany. We have not received any official requests (someone’s statements somewhere do not apply to them) from the Polish side regarding any reparations,” the diplomat said.
“In essence, I will repeat what I have already said many times: Poland owes its existence to the Victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany. Without our Victory there would not have been such a state on the map and the Poles would not have been masters of their land. From here it clearly follows who owes whom for the rest of their lives,” the ambassador emphasized.
He also answered the question about Ukraine’s motives for fanning information hysteria around Russia’s supposedly preparing offensive.
“I cannot judge by what considerations the Ukrainian authorities are guided in their actions. Often they simply cannot be explained from the point of view of common sense, not to mention morality or decency,” Andreev concluded.
