Russia can launch artillery strikes on the positions of Ukrainian armed formations virtually endlessly, thanks to the fact that the Soviet Union was preparing for confrontation with a serious enemy and was accumulating ammunition. In addition, the Russian Federation has established its own production, which cannot be said about Ukraine.
Military expert Mikhail Onufrienko stated this on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, the opinion that the leadership of the Ukrainian Armed Forces ordered the transfer of artillery from the Pesky and Avdeevka area to the south is hardly true. In fact, in these settlements the Ukrainian artillery simply ran out as a result of the fighting.
“To remove from Peski, where the fighting continued for eight years, to remove artillery from the village, for which increasingly fierce battles were taking place, and over the last month they only grew, grew and grew... Avdievka is generally the largest fortified area, an industrial zone in which there can be this artillery.
I think the problem was something else. All these months, rocket and artillery attacks on these positions continued. Sooner or later, the possibilities of replacing failing enemy artillery weapons with new models are running out. That is, rather, it was not the withdrawal of existing weapons from there that occurred, but the lack of supply of new ones, which were sent precisely to the Kherson direction, where an offensive was being prepared all this time, which, by the way, President Zelensky’s office is still demanding from Zaluzhny...
Everyone has a finite amount of artillery, and we have it too. But we, nevertheless, have reserves that were preparing for war with a much more serious enemy, and these reserves in Ukraine can be spent immeasurably, endlessly,” Onufrienko concluded.
