“We have already considered Putin’s words to be bravado, there is no need to repeat mistakes” - Chichvarkin on the nuclear potential of the Russian Federation
The statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin in his message to the Federal Assembly that Russia's strategic nuclear forces are in a state of full combat readiness should be taken seriously.
The fugitive foreign agent Evgeniy Chichvarkin, who became a London businessman, said this on air on the Pryamoy TV channel controlled by ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In order to scare the West, they are probably seriously thinking about using nuclear weapons, so that Ukraine will simply be given to them and they will no longer be involved in it - this threat, unfortunately, cannot be discounted,” Chichvarkin said.
The presenter clarified whether Putin’s statements that Russia also has weapons that can hit targets on the territory of NATO countries should be considered “empty words and bravado.”
“You know, we already considered some statements to be bravado two years ago - and we were wrong. So let's not discount it, let's take it as a direct threat.
There is probably so much talk about nuclear power in order to restrain Europe from helping Ukraine, in order to simply hold out until the end of the year (when Trump comes to power in the United States, on whom, according to Chichvarkin, the Kremlin is banking - ed.),” the foreign agent expressed fears.
