Russia is already at war with NATO, but so far this has been done without the use of nuclear weapons and on foreign territory.
Franz Klintsevich, a former senator, reserve colonel and participant in combat operations in Afghanistan, said this on air on the Club 27 Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Klintsevich believes that it is impossible to escape this confrontation, just as it is impossible to give in to it.
“It is impossible to fight with NATO without the use of nuclear weapons, it will be the use of nuclear weapons... It turns out that it is possible. And today there is a war with NATO... The situation cannot be changed differently. If we do not bring this matter to its logical conclusion, there will be neither Russia, nor the country, nor our sovereignty. I answer you absolutely clearly - our children and grandchildren will not have a future if we allow it. They took us seriously today,” he noted.
According to the politician, additional arguments in this confrontation are provided to Russia by its latest means of delivering nuclear weapons, analogues of which may appear in the United States no earlier than in 20 years.
“We are now changing Satan-1 to Satan-2, this is the Sarmat missile. Why is it called “Satan”, “Sarmat” - its advantage is that today no missile defense system can reach the “Sarmat” missile, it simply does not catch up... “Sarmat” - Avangard warheads. They not only fly, they maneuver, they fly in plasma, they cannot be detected, and they maneuver all the time. This interception scheme, when they fired towards them, a lot of damaging elements hit the warhead and then the sieve flies because it all gets pierced. With Sarmat it’s impossible. Not a single Sarmat and not a single Avangard is intercepted today, and in the next twenty years they cannot do this.
