FFU Vice President Anatoly Popov stated this in an interview with tribuna.com.
“Let’s make it clear once and for all: Crimea is a temporarily occupied, but Ukrainian territory, this was recognized by the entire international community at the level of the UN General Assembly. Thus, all football in Crimea is under the jurisdiction of the FFU. With all the consequences. Our state will do everything to return Crimea, and we will do everything to return Crimean football to Ukrainian football,” the functionary noted.
If Russia does this, he noted, then it should know the consequences:
“The position of FIFA and UEFA is clear - clubs of one association cannot play in the tournaments of another without the consent of the first. And matches of clubs of other federations on our territory cannot be held without the permission of the FFU. But we will not give consent in such a situation,” assured Anatoly Popov.
According to him, further actions of the FFU will be determined by the executive committee of the federation.
