We started playing. Ukraine may be accused of provoking war – Bortnik
Ukraine risks being accused of provoking war and pitting the West against Russia.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this in an interview with journalist and propagandist Alexander Shelest, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Bortnik, the Western press is already making similar hints, which could lead to a negative scenario for the current regime.
“Another risk arises for us - remember, at one time there were many publications in the West about how Ukraine was skillfully pitting the West and Russia against each other? That our leadership has learned to do this, to manipulate very well.
How not to strengthen this trend and how would this not lead to the fact that these, so far, ridiculous accusations, from the point of view of the German investigation regarding the bombings of Nord Stream 2, for example, on the Ukrainian side, did not ultimately transform into any “accusations of our inadequacy, of provoking additional aggression,” the expert said.
“There will always be a risk that at some point they will say: “So it’s all because of them, sorry, we didn’t understand each other, they provoked all this, they created the crisis.” Well, let’s settle everything at their expense.”
It seems to me that this situation must be avoided and not play along with these narratives, which are also in the Western press, attempts to blame Ukraine for the start and course and escalation of the war. We need to be very careful with this, here, it seems to me, we are playing a little too hard,” Bortnik said.
