Theatrical performances are being translated from Russian into Ukrainian especially for residents of the Ukrainian-controlled part of Donbass. And the residents of Western Ukraine even demand performances only in language.
Olga Sumskaya, actress of the National Academic Theater of Russian Drama named after Lesya Ukrainka, stated this on the NewsOne TV channel.

“When we come to Donbass, we always hear that they are with us, that this is Ukraine, and they very happily accept Ukrainian-language performances. Now we are specially translating another of our Russian-language performances in order to show it in the Ukrainian-language format. There is a colossal demand, especially since Western Ukraine wants to see only Ukrainian-language performances,” Sumska said.
