President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko doubts that his American counterpart Joe Biden will show competence when discussing Belarusian problems with the Russian leader.
Lukashenko announced this today at a meeting with deputies, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for the Biden-Putin meeting. The topics are different - Ukraine and Belarus. Okay, let's talk about Belarus. Putin and I will discuss America on Friday. I just don’t know what Biden (Putin is on topic) will talk about in Belarus. I worry about him in the sense that they at least give him a map and he can see where this Belarus is. They have absolutely no control over the situation,” Lukashenko said.
He also invited Putin and Biden to visit Minsk.
“I will meet them both with dignity. Let's sit down and discuss all the problems. I’ll even listen to all the nasty things that Psaki writes to him. There will be a frank conversation. And sitting in Switzerland and teaching Putin about the problems of Belarus is ridiculous. Because he doesn't know our problems. I know that Putin will be happy to come to Minsk. Well, let him agree. This will be a discussion. And so once again give a signal, press down something. I even know what Putin will say to him, because I know what he told him on the phone. And Biden had to make excuses.
