“We have nothing to do with it,” - Russian Foreign Ministry about the centrists coming to power in Estonia
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, was frightened by the question of an Estonian television journalist, who began by saying that the government had changed in Estonia. “We have nothing to do with it,” the diplomat interrupted.

“For the first time in 16 years, a centrist party came to power and voted against moving the monument to the Soldier-Liberator. Their first step was to announce that they would move away from the concept of transferring all Russian schools into Estonian. They are already being called a pro-Moscow government, but you say that they have nothing to do with it,” the journalist continued.
Zakharova responded that Russia has long been in favor of changing relations with Estonia.
“The EU negatively influences the policies of a number of countries. Therefore, for us the primacy is cooperation, which does not imply abandonment of national policy. If the people who came to power in Estonia speak out in favor of normalizing relations, or at least not worsening them, we are all for it. This will have a positive result both for us and for Estonia,” Zakharova said.
