We know how to sue Russia in The Hague, but this is still a secret - Minister of Justice of Ukraine

“Russia was systematically preparing for aggression, because all Russian diplomacy in the 90s, during the signing of interstate agreements, included the possibility of extending the law of the International Court to these agreements,” Petrenko said. “The Russians, realizing that they were not going to comply with international agreements, did everything to ensure that if the agreements were violated, cases would not end up in the International Court.”

According to the minister, together with colleagues from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, an analysis of several thousand international agreements in which Russia appears over the past 25 years was carried out.

“And we found a small but serious number of agreements there that allow us to go to the International Court without the consent of the aggressor country. Currently, pre-trial and trial work is underway on these three large-scale conventions. Due to the regulations of the International Court of Justice, I am not able to disclose the details of our applications to this institution, because such details can be used by the aggressor country to delay these processes,” the minister noted.
