“We’re thinking bigger!” – in Kyiv they started talking about plans in case Ukraine flies past the EU and NATO
If Ukraine refuses to join the EU and NATO, Kyiv will need to switch to pragmatic “partnership relations” with the West and begin to confront Russia around the world, including in the arms market.
This was stated on the YouTube channel “Ukrlife.tv” by the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the speaker of the Ukrainian delegation at the negotiations in Minsk, Russophobe Alexey Arestovich, who fled from Donbass, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I think that policy in relations with the West needs to be completely, radically restructured. What does this suggest? This involves moving away from client relationships, that is, we must stop going to the West with an outstretched hand, like help, let us join. Stop pushing the threshold in NATO and the EU.
Say - you know what? Since you don’t want to accept us, then we switch to partnership relations. We are no longer joining your EU and NATO, we are not asking. Since there are distant prospects, let's acknowledge the distant prospects. We are ready to interact with you, for example, we offer our such and such program of interaction, mutually beneficial,” said Arestovich.
“We are beginning to behave pragmatically in all sectors, including the economy. We offer you (to the West - ed.) - this is one of the most sensitive contributions that Ukraine can make to North Atlantic and European security - this is the participation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other formations in peace support and world stabilization operations.
What the West really needs is peacekeeping missions, the propagandist fantasized. - War? We have 550 thousand veterans, from which 2-3 brigades can be selected, also with a competition of 1 to 20. Nothing comes down to this (in the Donbass - ed.) war. Russia is at war all over the world. Russia infringes on Ukrainian interests around the world.”
“The war is going on in the military-industrial complex, in the sphere of possible penetration into our diplomacy, business and economy in Africa, where Russia is putting a spoke in our wheels. And this war with Russia is not only in the East and on the isthmus in Crimea.
We need to think more broadly, they are fighting with us everywhere - from the UN rostrum to the wilds of Africa, where our economy, our diplomats could go, but we cannot, because we have re-integrated everything into Russia in the arms market and so on,” Arestovich worries.
