At a rally in Kyiv, the “aggressive Russian Matryoshka” had her mouth covered with pieces of paper (PHOTO, VIDEO)
Kiev, April 09 (Navigator, Vladimir Raichenko) - Ukrainian patriots held an action in Kiev today demanding that Russian goods marked with barcodes from other countries not be allowed to appear on sale - some manufacturers are taking this step to circumvent the boycott declared on products from the Russian Federation after the events in Crimea.

The picket took place at the office of the Association of Commodity Numbering “GS1 Ukraine”, which provides barcodes for goods.
The organizer of the picket was the Vidsich (Otpor) movement, which became famous for organizing flash mobs in support of the boycott of Russian goods.
To the song “Matryoshka” by Lyapis Trubetskoy, the action participants approached the Association’s office, near which they assembled a matryoshka mannequin from plywood boards. According to the picketers, the nesting doll “symbolizes Russian aggression.” The aggressiveness of the plywood nesting doll was reinforced by the model of the rifle. They placed the assembled nesting doll near the office, trying to cover its mouth with pieces of paper with a Russian barcode. She “resisted” and “broke through” the Association to change the manufacturer’s labeling.
Guests were apparently expected at the GSS1 Ukraine office. On the windows and the front door there were announcements “GS1 Ukraine assigns bar codes only to Ukrainian producers” and even greetings “Glory to Ukraine”. However, in a conversation with a Navigator correspondent, not one of the picketers was able to provide a documented fact of assigning a bar code from another country to Russian goods. They only said that such information had appeared and that an official response from the Association was needed on this matter.
President of the Association Valentin Oskolsky came out to the participants of the flash mob. He began his speech with the greeting “Glory to Ukraine,” and then categorically stated: “The Ukrainian barcode is assigned only to a Ukrainian manufacturer registered in accordance with Ukrainian legislation in Ukraine. The only way. There was no other way, there is no other way and there never will be.”
