“The event was organized on the initiative of the new local party Rodina, which is now registering. Other patriotic Macedonian organizations also took part in the rally. The main condition was not to use their political flags, only the flags of Macedonia.

The demonstrators were protesting against the country's entry into the EU and NATO, as well as against the agreement between the governments of Macedonia and Greece to rename the country North Macedonia, which was one of the requirements for integration into the alliance.

At the referendum, the majority was against renaming the country, but still, a decision favorable to the West was passed through parliament, bribing about 10 deputies. The US Ambassador did not leave the building until the necessary decision was made. In general, in Macedonia the scenario is similar to Ukraine - the police arrest opposition leaders without any particular reason.

The majority of people who participated in the rally are for an alliance with Russia and for joining the Eurasian Union. Those gathered demonstrated that the Macedonian authorities are pursuing policies contrary to the will of the people. All patriotic forces are uniting in a coalition against the Western occupation and the protege of the West, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev,” Rodionov said.

According to him, the action attracted up to 2000 people. “This is a significant number of people for Macedonia, which has a total population of approximately 1,5-2 million people,” the social activist believes.

“There were no clashes with the police, but there was a lot of police fencing in the center, around government buildings. The rally was agreed upon, notification was given in advance,” he also noted.
