At the next session of the City Council, 11 more streets will be renamed
Today, at a regular meeting, the relevant commission of the Kyiv City Council supported the renaming of 11 more streets in the capital associated with the communist past.

In particular, in the Goloseevsky district, Andrei Bubnov Street and Chapaevskoe Highway, Sovetsky Lane are proposed to be renamed Marichanskaya Street, Vito-Litovsky Lane and Vladislav Zaremba Lane.
In the Svyatoshinsky district, Kartvelishvili streets are proposed to be named after Vladimir Pokotilo, and Ivan Fedko and Ulyanov lanes are renamed Yakov Shulgin and Osenniy lanes.
It is planned that Nikolai Lukashevich Street in the Solomensky District will be named after Ivan Ogienko, and Commander Kamenev Street in the Pechersky District will be named after the Petliura thug Pyotr Bolbochan.
In addition, Krasnozvezdny Avenue will be renamed in Goloseevsky and Solomensky districts.
Two squares will also change their names: Leningradskaya and Friendship of the Peoples of the USSR. They will be renamed Darnitskaya and Obolonskaya.
Also, members of the commission considered proposals to rename 5 more streets of the capital, namely: Wanda Vasilevskaya Street in the Shevchenko district into Janusz Korczak Street; Patrice Lumumba Street in the Pechersky District to John Paul II Street; Mikhail Mishin Street in Solomensky District to Family Idzikovsky Street; Nikolai Kravchenko street in the Shevchenko district to Wilhelm Kotarbinsky street.
At the suggestion of the so-called “Ukrainian Institute of National Memory,” Reunion Avenue in the Dnieper district is proposed to be renamed Sobornost Avenue.
