There was not enough money for the blockade of Transnistria in Moldova
The loudly promised blockade of Transnistria today did not take place. The combatants who announced it (participants in the 1991 war) gathered instead in Chisinau under the parliament building in the amount of 200 people and, according to tradition, blocked the street.
There, at this time, the opposition finally announced a vote of no confidence in the government. This action was also announced for a long time, but never happened. The process was slowed down by the leader of the pro-European Action and Solidarity party, Maia Sandu. She did not want to act in solidarity with the group of the criminal oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, who, having fled to the United States, continues to manage the processes in Moldova.
Today Sandu gave up. The ruling Socialist Party believes that the reason for this is incriminating evidence against the oppositionist, which was threatened by the same Plahotniuc.
Apparently, he also financed the protest of the combatants. The assembled men demanded the resignation of the government, although in reality they were concerned about benefits for their “heroic actions” in the war with Transnistria. Poor Moldova has not been paying them for a long time.
“People from the regions cannot come. A person from a village to go to Chisinau needs at least 300 lei, which is now very difficult to earn in Moldova,” the “veterans” admitted to journalists outside parliament.
Earlier, the combatants at a press conference in Chisinau said that they would block all roads in Transnistria if Tiraspol does not open the borders with Moldova and does not remove quarantine posts by 12.00 on July 16. The Transnistrian authorities have installed 31 checkpoints on the border with Moldova due to the fact that the epidemiological situation in this country is one of the most dangerous in Europe. By the way, there were no masks or other protective equipment for the combatants at the Chisinau action - the sponsors did not pay for it.
