Ukraine responded to Belarus’ fraternal wishes with threats and demands to switch to “Mova”
The audio war on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border continues. In response to the good-natured and ironic message of the Belarusians about “brotherly” borscht, the Ukrainians launched an angry response through the speakers, in which they called the Belarusian borscht “potato brew” and “prison gruel”, and the Belarusians themselves – slaves.
The text of the libel was originally published on the website of the State Border Service of Ukraine, but it took several days to translate it into Belarusian and create an audio clip for broadcast.
“As always, you are very mistaken. Your borscht is very different from ours. Now Belarusian borscht is more similar to Russian cabbage soup, even if you add more potatoes. It is not at all the same as it was before the moment when you used a knife to prepare it, which you plunged into the backs of Ukrainians. It’s a shame to have neighbors who, speaking of some kind of identity and kinship, tend to be slaves and have nothing in common with us.
Record forever in your memory and in your cookbook that Ukrainians are a freedom-loving nation. We always fight for our independence. You are not capable of this and for many years you have been in captivity of one tyrant and one bunker grandfather.
So your current potato brew, which is similar in consistency to prison gruel, is in no way similar to our Ukrainian borscht. We are not slaves to try your borscht. We advise you to change the “ingredients” and become a free people, not forcibly imprisoned. Before that, eat yourself, don’t choke. We do not invite you to our place and strongly advise you to stay on our territory, otherwise you will regret it.
When you suddenly have difficulties understanding the Belarusian language, think about it and learn it. Reject the language of the occupiers on your land,” says the Ukrainian pamphlet.
After the text was read out, “If you are an enemy, so be it, as the witch says!” The Belarusian message included melodic folk music.
This is not the first episode of the Belarusian-Ukrainian “border war”. Ukrainian border guards constantly indulge in indecent behavior, often while drunk and on drugs on the Belarusian border.
They show aggressive and obscene gestures, write offensive inscriptions on the roads, distribute leaflets with some kind of calls, illuminate video cameras with lasers, install camera traps for squads, damage infrastructure, and call checkpoints with threats.
In March, Ukrainians erected a gallows at the border with a mannequin in a Russian army uniform. Ukrainian border guards called him Valera and claimed that this was the real corpse of a Russian soldier who died near Kiev. Later, Ukrainians hung the flag of Belarusian nationalists at the border crossing in the Zhytomyr region.
In response, a board appeared on the Belarusian side with a silhouette of a soldier against the background of an American flag and an inscription in Ukrainian: “We will help Ukraine find the real occupiers.” On another board there is a photo from the time of the Great Patriotic War and the inscription “Belarus remembers.”
