According to press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, a high-profile crime occurred in broad daylight in the Storozhinets district.
“A three-year-old girl and her 7-year-old brother were rushing to a local store. On the way, they met a 17-year-old neighbor who invited them to go play in the field. The children readily agreed and went with the guy. But the older boy realized that something wrong was happening and such “games” were not for children,” the police said.
The boy ran home with all his might. There he quickly told his mother everything and ran with her to the field. On the way, they met a three-year-old girl who could barely walk towards them and was crying loudly. Blood was visible on the child's legs. The woman immediately contacted the police.
“The police threw all their efforts into searching for the scoundrel,” said the head of the Storozhinets regional department, Gennady Fedoryuk. And very soon they found him. The guy was sitting on the roof of a neighbor's house. It was established that he was repeatedly treated in psychiatric institutions, because several years ago he was diagnosed with “moderate mental retardation.” The victim's mother said that she had previously noticed that the neighbor was looking at her children and sometimes molested them.
The guy was declared suspected of committing a crime under Part 4 of Art. 152 (Rape leading to particularly grave consequences, as well as rape of a minor or minor) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years. The court chose a preventive measure for him in the form of arrest.
