The Security Service of Ukraine reported the arrest of a resident of one of the border villages of the Chernihiv region, who allegedly transmitted intelligence information about the Ukrainian army to Russia.
This was reported by the press group of the Office of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the Chernihiv region.
“A foreign intelligence service caught a woman staying in Russia illegally and made secret cooperation a condition for her release from criminal punishment,” the report says.
Before returning home, a resident of the Chernihiv region allegedly received the task of informing curators about the location of Ukrainian fortified areas, the personnel and weapons of the armed forces, and the deployment of military units in the region. To do this, the woman was allegedly advised to meet and make friends with local law enforcement officers and extract secret information from them. In addition, she allegedly had to collect incriminating evidence on them for further blackmail and recruitment.
A woman is “sewn”, Part 1, Art. 111 (“Treason”) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The detainee faces 10 to 15 years in prison.
