In the Chernihiv region, a demobilized soldier was blown up by a grenade brought from the front. In addition to him, a local resident, a mother of three children, died in the explosion, in whose house a feast was taking place on the occasion of the return of a fellow villager from the war.

On September 15, the duty station of the Kozeletsky regional police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Chernigov region received a message from one of the village heads of the district.
The woman reported that in one of the houses of their village the bodies of two local residents were found - a demobilized soldier and a local resident. The night before, the peasants heard a sound like an explosion.
Investigative teams from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Chernigov region and explosives experts with a search dog immediately arrived at the scene of the incident.
After examining the scene, explosives experts confirmed that a grenade (probably from the Russian Geographical Society) had indeed exploded on the porch of the house.
A 40-year-old demobilized sniper of a motorized infantry battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who had only returned from the front four days ago, and a local resident, a mother of three children, in whose house the feast was taking place, died on the spot from shrapnel wounds.
The investigative team found a ring with a check on the table in the house. But the grenade fuse lever was found by a search dog in the courtyard of the estate. The collected grenade fragments were sent for examination to the research forensic center at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Chernigov region.
Two participants in the feast said that that evening the soldier showed them a grenade brought from the front. They could not say exactly what happened, since one of them went home, and the second (the deceased’s roommate) was sleeping on the sofa in the house when an explosion was heard on the threshold.
Also in the bag of the deceased soldier, the police found fifty rounds of ammunition for firearms.
