On the Independence Day of Ukraine, videos praising Shukhevych are launched on TV.
On Ukrainian TV, for Independence Day, which is celebrated on August 24, they are broadcasting videos praising, in particular, Roman Shukhevych, the UPA commander who collaborated with Nazi Germany.
The video is called “Ukraine. Born Free” was created by the Institute of National Remembrance, which is financed by taxpayers.
In the video, Roman Shukhevych is called “The Resilience of Ukraine,” Prince Vladimir the Great is called “the faith of Ukraine,” Taras Shevchenko is called “the soul of Ukraine,” etc.
At the same time, the authors of the video do not mention a single hero of the Great Patriotic War, scientist, physician, statesman or commander of the times of the Russian Empire.
