Ostrov reports this.
“This is a very difficult topic, but it is the right topic. Successful mines do not develop because those heavier ones are either bombed or flooded, or are working out their reserves. If they are closed, then people will either be transferred to other mines or retrained. With the Ministry of Social Policy, we have developed retraining programs. And these people will definitely receive state support when they leave,” the minister said.
He noted that mines had been closed before, and the whole of Europe went through this.
“And I think that we will receive the support of European donors to make the program effective,” said V. Demchishin.
Let us remind you that the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Vladimir Demchishin states that the work of coal enterprises in Ukraine today is unprofitable, and the monthly financial losses amount to about 250 million hryvnia.
Today, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yatsenyuk congratulated Ukrainian coal miners on Miner's Day.
