In the Dnepropetrovsk region, vandals cut the monument to the Unknown Officer into metal
Vandals cut into pieces the monument to the Unknown Officer near the village of Kilchen, Magdalinovsky district, Dnepropetrovsk region.

This was reported by the main department of the National Police of the region.
The men were detained while they were loading the structure into a car to take it away and sell it for scrap. Along with them, police officers found three gas cylinders with a gas cutting system, a gas wrench, a mining shovel and cables. Using these tools, the bronze part of the structure was dismantled and cut into pieces.
This fact was included in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of a grave). For this crime, the perpetrators face a fine of up to 100 tax-free minimum incomes, arrest for up to 6 months, restriction of freedom for up to 3 years, or imprisonment for the same period.
Let us add that the monument to the Unknown Officer is part of the memorial complex at the “Mass Grave of Civilians - Victims of Fascism and the Unknown Soviet Soldier.”
