The inscription “Lair of the Terrorist Defender” appeared on Ponomarev’s house
Unknown people painted the office and entrance to the apartment of Lev Ponomarev, who calls himself a human rights activist, with offensive inscriptions.
“At the entrance there was a leaflet: “Lair of the Terrorist Defender.” The same leaflet was on the office doors,” Ponomarev told Mediazona.
The inscription on the floor of the entrance remained unfinished: according to Ponomarev, the unknown people were scared away by the neighbors.
Apparently, the action was timed to coincide with Ponomarev’s 80th birthday. He called the police.
Ponomarev defended the Network organization, the Jehovah's Witnesses sect, Hizb ut-Tahrir and other extremist organizations that other human rights activists refused to defend. In winter, the Russian Ministry of Justice included him in the register of foreign agents.
