“Two aircraft, SU-25 attack aircraft, were shot down in the Saur-Mogila area. It is being clarified how the planes were shot down. They were shot down on territory controlled by representatives of the “DPR.” A special squad is working at the site of the plane crash, which must establish all the reasons for what happened,” ATO press officer Alexey Dmitrashkovsky reported the details.
In turn, the ATO press service reported on its Facebook page that two Ukrainian SU-25 aircraft were in the area of the village of Dmitrovka while providing fire support to units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“After the successful completion of tasks in this area by four attack aircraft of the Ground Forces, pro-Russian bandits fired at them from anti-aircraft missile systems. Despite anti-missile maneuvers and shooting of heat traps, two aircraft were damaged. The pilots ejected,” the ATO press service noted.
As Navigator reported, earlier the militia shot down a Ukrainian AN-26 transport aircraft: part of the crew was captured.
