In Donbass, Ukrainian soldiers move into houses without the owners' permission
Ukrainian soldiers are occupying civilian houses along the entire front line. Deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense Yuliy Mamchur stated this on Hromadske TV.
According to him, this is a necessity because “they cannot live on the street.” This is how Mamchur answered journalist Anastasia Stanko’s question about the legality of the cantonment.

“In Peski, a lot of military personnel live in civilian houses, and along the entire front line. In principle, no one asks anyone for permission - they simply move into civilian houses. Is it a violation that the military is moving into these houses?” – asked Stanko.
The fugitive Crimean pilot believes that according to the laws of war, this is the norm.
“They shouldn’t be on the street. If there is a certain house that is not in use, then personnel can be stationed there, and if it is not free, then excuse me - war is war, according to the law of war,” said Mamchur.
