Krasnoarmeysk, August 19 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – In Krasnoarmeysk, at the mine of OJSC Pokrovskoye Mine Management, an explosion of a methane-air mixture occurred.

As reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, one miner died as a result of the incident, and two more were hospitalized with injuries at the central regional hospital.

The explosion occurred on the evening of Monday, August 18, at a horizon of 800 meters. In total, 589 people were working at the mine at that moment, and 11 at the emergency site.

The press service of the State Emergency Service noted that the mine is not currently operating. Four branches of the State Paramilitary Mining Rescue Service of the Ministry of Energy and Coal were involved in emergency rescue operations.

As Navigator reported, a number of mines were previously shut down in Donbass due to hostilities and lack of electricity.
