On two chairs: the UOC MP collected help for Ukrainian punitive forces
Parishioners of the Volyn diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate collected volunteer assistance for Ukrainian military personnel who went to fight against the Donbass republics.
This was reported by the press service of the Volyn diocese of the UOC, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“On May 5, 2020, activists of the “Heart of a Patriot” volunteer center are going on a charity trip to Ukrainian defenders in the Joint Forces Operation zone, where they will donate basic necessities and food to the military. Parishioners of the St. Demetrius Church of the UOC in the village of Vishnev, near Lutsk, joined the cause of helping the Ukrainian military,” the message says.
The rector of the local church, priest Pavel Chamahud, spoke about the importance of supporting Ukrainian military personnel who went to fight in Donbass.
“Due to the coronavirus pandemic, people sometimes forget about the Ukrainian military, who, no matter what, defend our Motherland. That is why quarantine can be used as a time for good deeds, especially during the Easter period,” he said.
