A film about the defeat of the Ukrainian army near Debaltseve is being released
The DPR hosted the premiere of a new documentary film by military correspondent Semyon Pegov, “Call Sign “Donetsk,” which tells about the defeat of the Ukrainian group in the Debaltsevo cauldron, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Residents of Donbass and everyone interested will be able to see unique footage of the battles for Debaltsevo, which have not previously been published in the public domain, as well as memories of direct participants in the battles of the winter of 2015.
“Due to the scale, due to how long the front was and how many units were involved from the Lugansk People’s Republic, from the Donetsk People’s Republic. Not only people who were fighting in the corps took part, but also the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of State Security and all other units that were holding weapons in their hands at that time. This is a common feat and a common victory, which, I believe, is worthy of not even one film, but an entire series or feature blockbuster in the future. We are still laying small bricks into the foundation of our memory... So that we never forget what happened there,” Pegov said.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, attended the presentation of the film.
“I know absolutely that we need this. It is important for us that these newsreels remain for future generations. It is valuable that the film was released just in time for the fifth anniversary of the Chernukhino-Debaltsev operation. The documentary film gives a vivid and, most importantly, truthful representation of how everything really happened.
At the end of the film, Yulia Chicherina’s song “Volunteer” is heard. Yulia is a great friend of our Republic, and today she was presented with a well-deserved award - the Order of Friendship,” commented the head of state.
“Thanks to everyone who worked on this film! And, of course, a deep bow to everyone who fought and continues to fight for their land, for the Donetsk People’s Republic, for the Lugansk (People’s Republic - editor’s note) and for our great Russia!” – Denis Pushilin concluded.
