The ignition of the blast furnace at the Yerevan Plant took place with the participation of the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko.
“This furnace will allow rental companies to operate uninterruptedly for almost a month. Iron ore raw materials have already been received,” said the head of the DPR.
Alexander Zakharchenko emphasized that the DPR has been a self-sufficient economic unit since 2014.
“We have a well-developed domestic market, which is capable of consuming large amounts of metal. This includes mechanical engineering, mines and a host of other areas. The surplus will be sold for export,” the head of the DPR assured.
Alexander Zakharchenko announced the opening of two longwalls in the mines of the DPR. According to him, this will happen this summer. In addition, after the final launch of the EDZ, the Yenakievo Coke and Chemical Plant, the Makeevka Metallurgical Plant and other enterprises will also begin.
“The launch of this enterprise entails the launch of 60 more enterprises, which will create and retain jobs. YeMZ is not only an enterprise that melts metal; thanks to it, a whole network operates, which includes the railway industry, medicine and other areas,” Zakharchenko added.
