Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Anatoly Antonov Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to the United States.

“By Decree of the President, Anatoly Ivanovich Antonov was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the United States of America and Permanent Observer of the Russian Federation to the Organization of American States in Washington, United States of America, concurrently,” the statement says.
It is also reported that Antonov was relieved of his post as Deputy Foreign Minister.
