The Ukrainian prime minister stated this in an interview with the American publication Politico.
“The deadline for Russia to join the club is November 29. If Russia rejects Ukraine's proposal, we will introduce a moratorium on debt payments. Russia will be treated the same as other creditors,” the prime minister said, commenting on Moscow’s refusal to restructure Ukraine’s $3 billion debt, which matures in December 2015.
“Despite the catastrophic consequences that a default could have on the economy of his country, Yatsenyuk remains defiant,” the publication comments on the prime minister’s statement.
