Chaos breaks out on Kosovo's borders
The recent unilateral decision by the Kosovo Albanian separatists to refusal to recognize Serbian passports led to chaos on the borders of the region illegally separated from Serbia - huge traffic jams arose at the crossings.
Thus, at the Merdare administrative checkpoint, the waiting time for those leaving the region is up to six hours, and at the entrance - about an hour. The day before, the convoy of vehicles stretched for 3,5 km. Eyewitnesses noted that people had to be in the heat, many were traveling with children.
At another point, Yarin, the waiting time in the first case was up to two hours, and in the opposite direction - about an hour. These data from the Kosovo “Ministry of Internal Affairs” were published by the Pristina media.
According to RTK, local residents call the situation another mockery of the Serbs in the region.
Belgrade did not ignore the incident. Thus, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Nebojsa Stefanovic commented on the situation: “The authorities in Kosovo show that they have no desire to comply with the international agreements that they themselves signed, and also make it clear to the Serbs in Kosovo that they are not wanted there. I no longer hope that anyone from the EU will react to this, because there was no serious reaction when Pristina introduced duties (economic blockade of Serbian enclaves - ed.),” Informer quoted the official as saying.
Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic also issued a statement to the press: “This is another form of mockery of the Serbs. They constantly apply pressure...Who knows what they can come up with after introducing duties, invading houses, detaining people at checkpoints...".
