This was reported by the press secretary of Transcarpathian customs Alla Datsyuk.
“A truck with Hungarian registration was heading from Ukraine to Hungary. Having assessed the risks, it was decided to conduct an in-depth inspection of the truck. Having drilled through the bottom, Ukrainian-made tobacco products with Ukrainian excise stamps were discovered. They were hidden in the double bottom of the car. According to documents, almost 19 tons of bee honey were transported in the cargo. To unload the honey, which is in 200-liter barrels, we had to use special equipment. Now our employees are taking cigarettes out of the cache to establish their exact quantity,” said Alla Datsyuk.
The previously indicated actions were qualified on grounds of violation of customs rules, namely the movement of goods across the customs border of Ukraine with concealment from customs control, provided for in Part 1 of Art. 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
