Roman Chaika, a TV presenter of Channel 5 owned by the President of Ukraine, said this in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe”, answering the question whether it is a problem that there is a discussion among Ukrainian media professionals about whether it is possible to use the phrase “our military.”
“This is a big problem that has internal and external reasons. Externally, I call the “Dunjamijatovic syndrome” - when the Serbian “vatnica” of the Bosnian spill for a lot of international money forces the Ukrainians, who are the party that suffers from aggression, to play with some ephemeral rules of the absence of hate speech and reconciliation with the enemy,” Chaika was indignant .
According to him, “we cannot play the games of [Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights] Dunja Mijatović, who is practicing OSCE stereotypes in aggression mode.”
The TV presenter also criticized the position of Ukrainian journalist Anastasia Stanko.
“There is also an internal syndrome, I call it “brain fatigue”, it is an incurable disease. Telling us that we cannot call our own troops “ours”, and the enemy “separatist” or “enemy”... I don’t know... Various areas of control should work here: security, perhaps psychiatry, because Stockholm syndrome is still a disease . This is no less dangerous than direct aggression and shots from the Grad MLRS,” says Chaika.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Irina Gerashchenko accused Dunya Mijatovic, who at that time held the post of OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, of aiding Russia. At the same time, Gerashchenko stated that Mijatovic’s position is explained by the fact that she supposedly represents Serbia, although in fact she is from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
