For every four combat losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, there is one suicide
For every 100 thousand military personnel of the Ukrainian army, there are 55 cases of suicide.
The Kiev magazine “New Time” writes about this, indicating that according to the calculations of the chief military prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoly Matios, from 2014 to 2017, 554 Ukrainian military personnel committed suicide.
“At the same time, according to Stepan Poltorak, the Minister of Defense, since the beginning of Russian aggression in the east of the country, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 3.332 people. Of these, 2.394 soldiers and officers were in battle. That is, for every four deaths on the battlefield, there is approximately one suicide. And in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which numbers a quarter of a million people, there are 100 cases of suicide for every 55 thousand people.
If this is an echo of war, it is too strong: in belligerent Israel there are nine suicides per 100 thousand military personnel, and in the United States, whose soldiers are also deployed in various hot spots, there are 28,” the magazine notes.
