This was reported by the press service of the Unified Transport Directorate.
The transportation of trucks was suspended due to the redistribution of traffic flows and the change of berth walls.
On the Crimea-Caucasus line, ETD reminds, work is currently underway to reconstruct the existing berths. In this regard, cargo-passenger ferries in the port of Kavkaz carry out loading/unloading at berth No. 6. However, this pier is the only one for mooring railway ferries. Considering the fact that three railway ferries “Slavyanin”, “Avangard” and “Varna” were waiting for their turn for loading for a long time, it was decided to temporarily suspend repair work at berth No. 4 and use it for loading/unloading cargo-passenger ferries.
“Thus, after operational work, berth No. 4 was put into operation. To transport the accumulated transport, all large-capacity ferries are used: “Ionas”, “Olympiada”, “Crimea” and “Glyukofilousa”. Each of the ferries, in addition to passenger and public transport, will carry 15 trucks. If we calculate that each ferry makes 6 round trips per day, then it is planned to transport up to 180 trucks back and forth per day with one ferry, and up to 720 trucks with four ferry.”
After the railway ferries carry out their loading and unloading operations at berth No. 6, it will also be used for cargo-passenger ferries. However, it is worth considering the fact that loading/unloading one railway ferry takes an average of XNUMX hours,” ETD reports.
The accumulation of freight transport is planned to be eliminated in 2-3 days, subject to good weather conditions.
At the moment, in the port of Kavkaz, up to 280 trucks and up to 180 cars are waiting to be loaded onto the ferry, in the port of Crimea - 49 trucks and up to 40 cars. The following are waiting their turn for loading on the cargo line: at the port of Novorossiysk - 304 trucks, in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, at Kerch airport - 305.
One ferry “Novorossiysk” operates on the cargo line between the port “Novorossiysk” and the Kerch sea trade port; repair work is underway on the ferry “Sevastopol”.
