In the Kherson region, “patriots” are cutting down forests en masse, declaring that this is necessary to fight Putin
It’s time for Ukrainian politicians to stop covering up their theft with patriotic slogans, deputy Yuriy Odarchenko said at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to him, the majority of Verkhovna Rada voted for laws that cause “billions of losses for the population.”
“Today you have set the cost of heat for the population at the level of imported gas and are happy that you have allegedly established European laws. This is a crime against the Ukrainian people. And I want you to stop hiding behind camouflages and slogans that you are fighting for something,” the deputy addressed his parliamentary colleagues.
He also recalled that he lives in the Kherson region, where he was elected in a majoritarian constituency.
“Today there is not a single forest plantation in the region. Forests are being brutally destroyed because they are being used for cheap pellets, which are supposedly burned to strike at Putin. Today this scheme involves theft, deforestation and destruction of the environment. I really ask you to come to your senses and not use beautiful words about patriotism when you set an extremely high price, when you pass lobbying laws associated with inflated tariffs for the population,” Odarchenko said.
